Tips: 
shortpress F then 0 to store FM broadcast freqs. 
 by assigning them a name.
shortpress F then 1 for VFO memory slots
shortpress F then 2 to switch to single freq display, 
 needed to enter frequency above 1000 MHz.
shortpress F then 3 copies Memory freq to VFO.
shortpress F then 4 copies VFO freq to Memory channel.
shortpress F then Scan, choose all, press M, 
 so you can up-down arrow through memory channels.

Longpress 1 for AGC speed Slow, Fast, Manual.
Longpress 2 to select VFO A or VFO B.
Longpress 3 to select VFO or Memory Channels.
Longpress 4 to adjust Manual AGC Gain.
Longpress 5 RX Filter wide, narrow etc.
Longpress 6 to select TX Power High Medium Low.
Longpress 7 to select Memory Group (usually ALL)
Longpress 8 activate RIT or XIT.
Longpress 9 to select Frequency Step 250Hz, 5Khz etc.
Longpress 0 to select Modulation FM AM DSB CW.

Note on Windows driver issues with USB programming cable:
Its best to install the Baofeng Windows 7 driver first, 
before plugging the cable in your computer. 
If you're running Windows 10 or 11, Microsoft Update 
may forcibly try to update the driver and say your cable 
is not genuine Prolific 2303 and shut it down. 
This will appear as such in Device Manager. 
If this occurs, uninstall the cable USB device and driver, 
unplug the cable and do this before starting over.
Once the older driver is working, leave driver updates off:

Windows 10 - Stopping Automatic Driver and BIOS Updates
Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
 Browse the following path:
  Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > 
   Windows Components > Windows Update
 On the right side, double-click the Do not include drivers with Windows Update policy.
 Select the Enabled option.
 Click Apply.
 Click OK.

Windows 10 - Re-enabling Automatic Driver and BIOS Updates
Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
 Browse the following path:
  Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > 
   Windows Components > Windows Update
